Dr Armando Farmini – your gynaecologist in Salzburg

As a physician, I let conventional medicine go hand in hand with holistic medicine.

After many years of experience as a physician working in various hospitals in Italy, Germany and Austria, I let conventional medicine go hand in hand with holistic medicine. Even while still at school, my fellow pupils predicted my future in medicine and especially in gynaecology, because I was a good listener and confidante to them.

Because foreign countries and foreign languages have been my great interest from youth, I took the opportunity of an Erasmus stay at the Medical University of Vienna during my studies in Ferrara (Italy). My first path after my clinical traineeship in endocrinology in Ferrara took me to the Department of Radiology in Udine, where I focussed on ultrasound diagnostics.

I learned about gynaecology’s wide spectrum with a focus on oncological breast surgery at the hospitals Lukaskrankenhaus in Bünde, Klinikum Lippe in Lemgo and then at the Klinikum Traunstein.

At the Landeskrankenhaus Salzburg, Hospital of the Paracelsus Medical Private University, I gained my qualification as medical specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics in 2010. In the following year, I was appointed Senior Physician at the Department of Special Gynaecology, where I further developed my surgical techniques in the treatment of breast cancer.

However, surgical procedures are not always the only solution. I thus found out about bioidentical hormone therapy that remedies the causes of many disorders gently and without side effects.

Having attended more than 1000 births and performed very many breast operations, I opened my own practice as a private gynaecologist, obstetrician and senologist in 2013, first in the Medicent and three years later in Salzburg’s most charming Andrä quarter. My core areas there include preventive screening, pregnancy support and particularly the bioidentical hormone therapy. At the same time, I continue to perform surgery as a breast cancer specialist at the Wehrle-Diakonissen private hospital in Salzburg.

Thanks to regular further professional training all over the globe in a wide range of subjects and with outstanding practitioners such as Dr Jonathan Wright, originator of the bioidentical hormone therapy in Washington, Dr Thierry Hertoghe, President of the International Hormone Society in Brussels, Professor Dr Umberto Veronesi, former founder and director of the European Institute for Oncology in Milan as well as Dr Mahdi Rezai of the European Academy of Senology at the Luisenkrankenhaus in Dusseldorf, developer of numerous oncological breast surgery techniques, to name but a few, I provide my patients with competent access to the latest insights from the world of medicine.

I am happy to pass on this information in easy-to-understand and entertaining talks to patients in the German-speaking regions and also in my book entitled “Bioidentical hormone therapy” which I am currently in the process of finishing. Because medicine is as exciting as human nature itself, and there is always something new to learn and discover, because …
